Home damaged in fire on Cotton Grove Road

LEXINGTON, NC – The Lexington Fire Department responded to a house fire on Friday at 6 pm. When firefighters arrived, the single-family home on Cotton  Grove Road had heavy smoke and visible heavy fire.  

Lexington Firefighters had the fire under control in less than an hour. 

When crews arrived, fire conditions were so heavy they could not safely search the  home. Lexington Firefighters immediately began working to extinguish the fire  and had it under control in less than one hour. 

No firefighters or residents reported injury, but the house sustained significant fire  and smoke damage. The Red Cross responded to the scene to assist the resident. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the City of Lexington Fire Marshal’s  Office and the Davidson County Fire Marshal’s Office.
