Update on flooding at Charles England Elementary School

Update on flooding at Charles England Elementary School

As part of Lexington City Schools' (LCS) ongoing communication with the community regarding the flooding incident at Charles England Elementary School (CEES), we want to provide an update on the situation and the steps being taken for recovery.

What Caused the Flooding?
The flooding was caused by a failure in the union of the pipeline that feeds the HVAC system, which resulted in water flooding specific areas of the school.

Affected Areas
The areas most impacted by the flooding include the fourth-grade hallway and the bathrooms located within that hallway.

Assessment and Repairs
A restoration company has been engaged to assess the damage and initiate repairs. As of now, all standing water has been removed, and we are working diligently to restore the affected areas.

The safety and well-being of students and staff remain top priority. LCS appreciates understanding and patience as they work through this situation.

For further updates, please monitor the Lexington City Schools website and their social media channels.
