Commissioners to consider a 1-year moratorium on applications for solar farms

NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING

Notice is hereby given that members of the Davidson County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2024, to consider a proposed 24-month moratorium on the acceptance or processing of special use permit applications for solar farms in Davidson County, as set forth by the Davidson County Zoning Ordinance, pending consideration of amendments to such ordinance. A public hearing will be held to solicit public comment on the proposed moratorium.

The Board of Commissioners will also consider approval of the contract for the next phase of the Silver Valley Sewer Extension, as well as hold a Closed Session for Real Property.

The total time for comments from members of the public on the proposed 24-month moratorium on the acceptance or processing of special use permitapplications for solar farms shall be one hour. At the discretion of the chair, time for public comments may be extended. The one-hour limit does not include or affect Board deliberation time or time for members of County staff to provideinformation or recommendations.

There will be no public comment period at this meeting.
