Jobs: Nucor to host Town Hall Meetings
61 years ago, North Carolina-based company, Nucor Steel, began its path of growth to become the largest steel producer in the United States and the largest recycler of any material in North America. We currently operate 25 steel mills – all of which are in the United States – and more than 300 total facilities that produce steel products and process scrap metal to feed our mills.
Nucor has been based in Charlotte since 1966, and we are currently #98 on the Fortune 500 list of the largest public companies in the United States. Fortune also named Nucor as the country’s #1 Most Admired Metals Company and the 14th Best Manufacturing & Production Workplace. Last year, we set records for both net earnings and shipments, and we did so while achieving our safest year in company history, all while continuing to hold the highest credit ratings of any steel producer headquartered in North America.

In order to prepare for hiring more than 150 melt shop, roll mill, maintenance, sales, and clerical positions in March, the Nucor Lexington team plans to hold several town halls to further educate our community on Nucor. These town hall events will discuss the various positions that will be posted, benefits that are offered to employees and pay rates for posted jobs. We hope that individuals who are interested in employment or interested in learning more about Nucor will plan to attend one of the events.
