Back to School Carnival
After a long, hot summer, it’s time to ring in the school year. It’s a new year with endless possibilities.
Step right up to our first annual Back to School Carnival! Children and teens will have a blast and can enjoy activities like face painting, carnival booth games, making giant bubbles, eating popcorn, and playing cornhole. The list goes on, and your family can enjoy taking silly pictures at the photo stations, playing a game of life-sized Angry Birds, and cashing in your free tickets for prizes of crisp, new school supplies.
A carnival wouldn’t be complete without a little magic in the air, and this one will be no exception. Consider this your ticket to come see the mind-bending illusions of the extraordinary, the mysterious, the preposterous… The Great Jasino! This opportunity is coveted by many, but you can feast your eyes on this spectacularly mystical show at two different performance times during the carnival. The show will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. in the courtyard of the newly renovated Children’s Library. In addition, enjoy some carnival tunes via live music from the talented Tuba Dave!
We hope to see you try your luck at a game of ring toss, and maybe cool down in the late-summer heat with a free ice pop at the concession stand. Come one, come all, and kick the school year off with some confetti at the Back to School Carnival!
The Carnival is scheduled for Saturday, August 27th from 10 AM-1 PM at the Lexington Branch of the Davidson County Public Library. For more information, contact Children’s Librarian Emily Hubbard at emily.hubbard@davidsoncountync.gov or call (336) 242-2060.
