Lexington Police Arrest Suspects in Shooting

LEXINGTON, NC - On Wednesday, November 16, at 4:55 pm, Lexington Police officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 600 block of Smith Avenue. Officers gained a description of the suspect's vehicle and learned that occupant(s) of that vehicle were shooting a firearm from within their car at another unknown vehicle.

Officers observed the suspect's vehicle on Fairview Drive within minutes of responding. As a vehicle stop was attempted, the driver pulled into a Lowe's Home Improvement parking lot, and three of the four occupants fled on foot. Officers immediately detained one suspect, quickly established a perimeter in the area, and began tracking the other three suspects on foot and with a police canine. Officers were able to locate all three suspects separately, still in the general area, and took them into custody without incident.

During the arrests, officers also recovered a handgun and narcotics. This was an isolated incident and not a random act. Officers and investigators are unaware of anyone being hit by gunfire or any injuries related to the incident.

LPD recognizes that this was a heavily congested area at the time and would like to thank the public for their patience as we worked to apprehend these suspects.

The four suspects and their arrest details are as follows:

Tevvohn Zishod Jeramyah Knotts, age 18, charged with possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, discharge of a firearm in the city limits, going armed to the terror of the public, possession of schedule VI, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Held in the Davidson County Jail on a $7,500 secured bond.

Malik Raynard McNeair, age 19, charged with resist delay and obstruct, held in Davidson County Jail on a $1,000 secured bond.

Two juvenile males were also arrested and face charges of resist delay and obstruct, driving with no operators license, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information related to this investigation can call Lexington Police at (336) 243- 3302 or Lexington Area Crime Stoppers at (336) 243-2400.
