Women of First UMC hold bazaar and bake sale, Nov, 19th

The United Women in Faith of First United Methodist Church, 310 South Main Street Lexington NC will hold a craft/bake/tag sale on Sunday November 19, 2023 from 12:00 noon to 2:30pm in the Fellowship Hall of the church. 

There will also be a hot dog lunch - 2 hot dogs with all the fixings, chips, dessert, and drink for $8.00 dine in or take out.  It’s been several years since the UWF has held a bazaar, and the members are looking forward to renewing the tradition. 

The proceeds of the lunch and sales will go to support the backpack programs at Pickett and Charles England Schools. The backpack programs at Lexington City Schools assists students with having meals at home when school isn’t in session. After Covid there has been a significant increase in the number of students who qualify for the program. UWF has made the backpack program their signature project for the year, and will continue supporting the students next year. 

Please enter the church from the State Street entrance or the 4th Street entrance. A church member will assist you entering the building. From the State Street entrance you can take the elevator or stairs to the first floor, and from the 4th Street entrance you’ll be in the first floor. Follow signs to the Fellowship Hall or ask church members for assistance. 

Gay Smith, former local president, and district UMW officer said two years ago “we aren’t going to allow our babies to be hungry”. United Methodists are known for their advocacy and hospitality. Please join us on November 18th for this opportunity to serve the community.
