Lexington, NC – The 6th Annual Christmas BBQ, founded and organized by Charles "Pic" Clark, returns this year to spread joy and holiday cheer to residents across Lexington. Taking place on the second Saturday in December, this beloved community tradition will be held simultaneously at Terrace Lane, The Club, Southside Village, and Caple Commons, starting at 1:00 PM.

Clark, a proud alumnus of Lexington Senior High School’s Class of 1986, started this initiative by rallying alumni groups and volunteers to host simultaneous BBQ events in multiple neighborhoods. His vision was to bring people together and celebrate the season with food, fun, and fellowship.

“It is a pleasure to give back to our community and help bring smiles, joy, and holiday cheer for residents throughout the communities,” said Charles "Pic" Clark.

Each BBQ features freshly grilled hot dogs with all the fixings, chips, snacks, and drinks, free for residents to enjoy. Volunteers and alumni groups enhance the festivities by giving out bikes and toys to children, playing games like football and basketball with local youth, and creating an uplifting atmosphere. A DJ provides music to keep spirits high, turning the day into a true celebration of community.

Over the past six years, the Annual Christmas BBQ has grown into a much-anticipated event, bringing neighbors together and creating lasting memories. The event showcases the power of community collaboration and highlights the joy of giving back during the holiday season.

This year Charles "Pic" Clark and the dedicated volunteers celebrated the season and help strengthen the bonds of community on Saturday, December 14th, 2024, at the four locations across Lexington.
