78th Annual Davidson County Agricultural Fair dates announced
The Davidson County Agricultural Fair marks the beginning of autumn in our area with the return of what has become a tradition with locals for seven decades. This year the dates for the fair in Davidson County are September 16th through the 21st. The gates of the fair open on Monday afternoon, September 16th at 4:00 p.m. and admission is $6.00 with free admission for children under 5 years old. All rides begin operating at 5:00 p.m. each day except Saturday, when they start at 10:00 a.m. and the fair closes at 10:30 p.m. each night.
This year’s activities include the return of memorable Reithoffer Midway rides, skill-challenging games, free entertainment from the bandstand and an over-the-top firework show each night. Tempting food and refreshments will be overflowing with choices ranging from specialty items that you can eat only at the fair, to food prepared by Civic Club Groups and other vendors in the wooden food stand area. Animal lovers will delight at the daily livestock exhibits which include horses, dairy cattle, beef cattle, goats, poultry, sheep and rabbits. Don’t forget to visit the exhibit hall where all of the entries and award winners are located for farm crops, flowers, vegetables, crafts and other educational exhibits.

Sunday, September 15- The fair will receive exhibits at 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. (except Poultry).
Monday, September 16- All Rides $15, FFA Dairy Showmanship 6:00 p.m. Receive Poultry exhibits 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Judging of all exhibit hall exhibits.
Tuesday, September 17- All Rides $16, Judging of Dairy Cattle 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday, September 18- All Rides $20 Goat Judging 5:00 p.m.
Thursday, September 19- All Rides $20 Senior Citizens Day with gates opening at 9:30 a.m. All senior citizens (60+) admitted for free until 6:00 p.m. Also enjoy the popular, standing room only Davidson County Agricultural Fair Queen Contest.
Friday, September 20- No diaper derby planned and there will be regular ticket prices with no discounts.
Saturday, September 21- All rides on the midway for $15.00 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Tickets will be sold between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and will be good until 3:00 p.m. Beef cattle is to be judged 10:00 a.m. with horse judging at 4:00 p.m. All Day Saturday tickets are $25.00 from 10:00 a.m. until closing.
