Lexington, NC - A Davidson County man was charged by the Davidson County Sheriff's Office after a shooting incident on Leonard Road.
David Lee Burns, a 39-year-old white male, was arrested and charged on February 21, 2025, in connection to a shooting that occurred in Davidson County on February 8, 2025.
On Saturday, February 8, 2025, The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting off Leonard Road. The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division immediately launched an investigation into the incident. This investigation quickly identified Burns as the suspect and warrants were obtained for his arrest. The victim was treated and released for non-life threating injuries from Baptist Hospital. The UNITED STATES MARSHALS CAROLINAS REGIONAL FUGITIVE TASKFORCE was contacted to assist with locating Burns who had fled the scene.
On Friday, February 21, 2025, With the assistance of the Taskforce Burns was taken into custody without incident. Burn has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and possession of firearm by a felon.
