9/11 Memorial events

Saturday marks the 20 year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Memorial events in Davidson County are listed below:

• Thomasville Public Library, along with Sechrest-Davis Funerals and Cremations, the Thomasville Fire, Police and EMS, and other Thomasville businesses and organizations, will come together in solemn remembrance of the twentieth anniversary of 9/11. The ceremony, set to take place in the parking lot of Sechrest Davis, 18 Randolph St., will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the lowering of a flag flown over Shanksville, PA, and the playing of Taps, followed by a color guard and flag procession.

• The Davidson County Republican Women will host a 20th Anniversary Commemoration featuring first responder speakers.
