A Journey with Jesus (Part 2)

Today as our journey with Jesus begins we will celebrate the one life that played a very significant role in God’s plan of redemption.

Luke 1:57-60 tells us -"Now Elisabeth’s full time came that she should be delivered; and brought forth a son. And her neighbors and her cousins heard how the Lord had shewed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her. And it came to pass on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father. And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called John.”

Let us welcome the forerunner!!!! As believers, sometimes we may be asked by family or friends to deliver a message for them. Today, as we celebrate John the Baptist let us remember someone who was called by God to deliver a message and a man who took his mission very seriously. We, as believers may never be asked to give our lives for the gospel. But we are asked to be messengers by God.

We as believers are asked to live, share and proclaim the good with courage and conviction such as John the Baptist did. God’s plan is to make us more like Christ, after we are justified through faith in him. God seeks to bring us closer to perfection through every step of our walk with him. Each life is important to God.

We should always seek after the teaching of James 1:22 ,” But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” As we anticipate the arrival of our Savior Jesus Christ lets us rejoice knowing and proclaiming the will of God should bring great joy to our lives.

Thank you God for the strength that you empowers us to serve you boldly and righteously in the same manner as John the Baptist. Thank you God for the forerunner.

May God so richly bless!
