Arts Davidson County accepting grant applications

Arts Davidson County is now accepting applications for North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program subgrants through Friday, August 5, 2022.

Since 1977, the North Carolina Arts Council’s Grassroots Arts Program has provided North Carolina citizens access to quality arts experiences. Using a per capita based formula, the program provides funding for the arts in all 100 counties of the state through partnerships with local arts councils.

Arts Davidson County serves as the North Carolina Arts Council’s partner in awarding subgrants to local organizations for arts programs in Davidson County.

Applications are available for non-profit organizations whose purpose is to promote and develop diverse cultural arts programming in Davidson county. Funding priority is given to qualified arts organizations (theaters, galleries, choral societies, festivals), arts in education programs conducted by qualified artists, and other community organizations that provide arts programs in the county. Grassroots funds are not generally awarded to arts organizations that receive funding through the N.C. Arts Council’s State Arts Resources. Projects must occur between July 1, 2022 – June 15, 2023.

Application forms and grant guidelines are available on the Arts Davidson County website at www.artsdavidsoncounty.org.  Arts Davidson County will also mail applications and guidelines upon request. Applications must be received no later than Friday, August 5, 2022.

Arts Davidson County is also hosting two Grassroots Arts Program Grant Workshop to assist interested applicants in preparing competitive grants on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 11:30am and 6:00pm both at our future Art Center, 202 N Main Street Suite B, Lexington, NC 27292. Please RSVP to amandamurphy@artsdavidsoncounty.org if you plan to attend one of the workshops so we can reserve your spot.

New applicants are strongly encouraged to attend. Grant applications are evaluated by a diverse panel of community members and voted on by Arts Davidson County Board of Directors. Awards are announced in September each year. For questions or more information, contact Amanda Murphy Feliciano at amandamurphy@artsdavidsoncounty.org.
