The Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce and Thomasville Chamber of Commerce are offering the 32nd class of Leadership Davidson County sessions. Dates for each (March through June) are listed on the attached registration form.

The program requires 100 percent attendance, and each employer is asked to support this expectation. Leaders promise flexibility in the latter part of the business day, all sessions (other than a mini-retreat) are structured from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. This allows for participants to return phone calls and emails on a same-day basis. Each participant is requested to not accept phone calls and/or emails during the work sessions. The cost of participation is $595, including meals and materials.

Joe Wallace, president of Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce, said the program allows individuals to explore who they are from a personality and generational perspective in an open and nonjudgmental environment that incorporates fun into the entire process.

“With the help of TaylorTrain, the program’s facilitator, it is without question the premier leadership development program in Davidson County. The program then takes that knowledge and facilitates the process of helping each participant learn how to leverage and use that knowledge not only in their work lives, but also in personal relationships,” Wallace said. “This helps the participant be better prepared for those differences in the interpersonal/work environment, which then makes them a better employee/supervisor/manager.”

Wallace further explained the program considers different types of industries. “The program also affords participants the opportunity to see local businesses and to tour their manufacturing facilities that are normally closed to the public.”

Topics include economic development, education, government, human services, skill/knowledge building, team dynamics, understanding personality, change management, problem-solving, communications, conflict resolution, history and culture, local business and multi-generational management.

Over 680 business leaders have completed Leadership Davidson County. Wallace added that graduates have greatly benefited from knowledge and experiences gained through the program. “There is a great track record of personal and business growth and development amongst the graduates. It also affords participants the opportunity to meet and work with other emerging leaders in the County whereby lifelong friendships and working relationships are often formed. LDC continues to impact people, businesses and organizations throughout Davidson County.”

Applications will be accepted at either the Thomasville or Lexington Chamber office at this time until March 7th.
