Hospice features art of SEAL Joshua Harris for gala, final call for tickets

LEXINGTON, N.C. – (August 14, 2023) – Hospice of Davidson County is setting the stage for their upcoming Gala to be held at Arts Theatre 202 in Lexington, NC on Saturday, August 26. The event, with doors opening at 6 p.m., will feature live music, drinks, dinner, and both a silent and live auction. Tickets remain available, so be sure to reserve your spot for this special evening.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Dr. and Mrs. Sam Harris, the Agency is honored to display art from the talented collection of local hero, Petty Officer First Class SEAL Joshua Harris. This valued family treasure will be for display only and will serve as representation to the organization’s commitment to honoring veterans. Hospice of Davidson County is nationally recognized as a Level 4 We Honor Veterans partner through the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.

The Gala will include a live and silent auction comprised of over 30 selections. Available items include work from talented local artists, packages for local restaurants and entertainment, and more. The live auction will be hosted by two renowned local artists and recognizable community figures. It will feature five items, including work from local artists, Chip Holton and Dana Holliday.

The online auction is open to the community – closing at 7:45pm on Saturday, August 26. To participate in the Agency’s online auction, visit this link.

“We are thrilled to be closing in on this exciting community event,” said Brad Gaither, Director of Community Relations at Hospice of Davidson County. “Every individual deserves the chance to have a comfortable end-of-life journey with the most professional care and dignity. With the support of our community through events such as this, we are ensuring that level of care is accessible for all in and around Davidson County.”

Tickets are available online through Monday, August 21. Each ticket includes a meal, one drink ticket, and an entry into the evening’s auctions. All proceeds go to support patient care and support services at Hospice of Davidson County. Since taking our first patient in 1985, our Agency has never turned a patient away due to an inability to pay thanks to the generosity of our donors.
