Brief: Changes forthcoming for Lexington's voting wards, DEI manager hired

The Lexington City Council held the first of its bi-monthly meetings Monday, October 11. A presentation by Tammy Absher, Office of Business and Community Development director, confirmed results from the 2020 Census will require adjustments to be made to the City’s voting districts. It’s the hope of the City to have the wards updated in time for the municipal filing period in December.

City Manager Terra Greene announced the hire of Dr. Patricia R. Smyre as the City’s new Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager. Smyre has over 30 years of experience in the field and will begin on October 25.
