Press release
On April 27, 2022, the Davidson County 911 center received a report of a 15-year-old male with a gunshot wound being transported to the hospital by Ryan Joseph Peace. At the direction of the 911 operator Peace pulled over and meet with Davidson County EMS and law enforcement at Jersey Church Rd. and Hwy 8 just south of Lexington. The juvenile was found to have multiple wounds from what appeared to be pellets from a shotgun.
Peace, the victim, and an additional juvenile witness originally provided a vague story of a suspect in a black jeep driving by and shooting the victim while he was walking on the road but upon further investigation by Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, it was learned that Peace had shot the victim in the Southmont area of Davidson County. It was also learned that Peace threatened both the victim and the witness and directed them to provide the false story. The victim is being treated at an area hospital and his condition is unknown at the time of this press release. Ryan Peace was charged with Assault with a Deadly Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, two counts of Intimidating States Witness, and Possession of a Firearm by Felon. Peace received a $1,000,000.00 secure bond and was placed in the custody of the Davidson County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 9, 2022.
