Chamber's Summer Sounds concert is NOW free

Chamber's Summer Sounds concert is NOW free

The Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce says the sounds of summer fun and networking are back. Here’s the twist. The group was unable to host the popular Alive After Five concert series last year but will return with a one day concert on August 14th at the Breeden Insurance Amphitheatre.

The Chamber originally planned to charge for admission but recently announced that the concert will be free. “We are really excited to be back at the Breeden Insurance Amphitheatre after a year of away due to COVID restrictions,” said president Joe Wallace. “We are also very much looking forward to seeing everyone and getting back to in person events after a long fight against the pandemic.”

The one day event is a spin on the previous concert series, according to Wallace. “While this is one event instead of our usual four or five concerts per summer in our traditional Alive After Five series, the concert will have the same look and feel of our Alive After Five concerts; food trucks, inflatables for kids and beverages for sale including water, soft drinks, beer, wine, cider and margaritas,” Wallace explained.

Wallace offered, “This is a wonderful opportunity to get out and enjoy some great music with friends and family in a fantastic venue.” The group debated on changing for the concert since past events have been free to the public. Last week they announced the shift to making it free. “Like our Alive After Five concerts, our Sounds Of Summer Concert is free to the public.”

The event date is Saturday, August 14th from 4:00pm to 10:00pm.

Bands in order of appearance are Kids In America (80’s tribute band), Ross Coppley (well know local artist who now lives in Nashville), Simerson Hill (popular local band made up of former Lilley Brothers members), and Trial by Fire (Journey tribute band) to end the evening.

The Chamber will issue refunds on tickets previously purchased.

The group noted in an emailed statement, “If you have already purchased tickets, we are working to get your refund issued asap!”
