City Funding Opportunities for Local Organizations

To increase transparency and equity in how the City of Lexington selects outside agencies for funding, the City Council has requested a revision to the current Partner Agency program.

The City will offer two funding opportunities through this revision - Community Agencies and Community Grants. Community Agencies mirror the City’s current practice of funding an organization that provides a specific service that a City department otherwise would provide.

Community Grants will provide one-time funding to an organization for a specific project or program. This will allow additional organizations the opportunity to secure City funding that they have not previously been able to through the Partner Agency program.

Funding requests will go through a Request for Proposals process. Once proposals are received, they will be reviewed by a committee and submitted to Council for a final decision.

This policy and application is subject to changes with the approval of the City Manager.
