Davidson County 911 Center launches Prepared Live, first in the state to offer livestream and receive GPS location data

Davidson County 911 Center launches Prepared Live, first in the state to offer livestream and receive GPS location data

The Davidson County 911 Center is excited to announce the launch of Prepared  Live in our dispatch center. The software, built by the company Prepared Inc.,  (Prepared911.com) enables our 9-1-1 dispatch center to livestream, receive  multimedia, and GPS location data from mobile callers in real-time. We believe  that this addition to the Davidson County 911's technology suite will significantly  improve our ability to effectively and efficiently respond to emergencies in the  community.

Director Rob Wilson said, “We are excited to be the first in North Carolina to offer  this piece of cutting-edge technology to our citizens and look forward to being  able to provide an enhanced level of situational awareness to our first  responders,”

Participation in video during a call is completely voluntary and consent of the caller is required. If the caller consents, they will receive a livestream link via text  from the dispatcher, enabling them to activate live video upon click. It’s  important to note that the video call function also does not provide Davidson  County 911 with access to the contents or settings of a caller’s phone.

This launch follows weeks of preparation and training to ensure that dispatchers  and other personnel are able to properly utilize the software.

“We are thrilled to have Davidson County 911 join the Prepared Network,” says  CEO and co-founder Michael Chime, “As we continue to expand our  partnerships, it’s crucial to connect with innovative agencies led by great people  and that’s exactly what Davidson County 911 is.”

About Prepared

Originally founded as a company focused on school safety, Prepared, led by co founders Mike, Dylan, and Neal, is a mission-driven organization with a passion for  improving public safety. In creating an app to help mitigate school emergencies,  the team discovered that valuable data is lost in existing 9-1-1 processes and set  out to address the problem.

Since public launch October of 2021, Prepared Live has helped protect over 15 million American citizens over 40 states around the country.
