Davidson County Airport makes upgrades and improvements

Construction at the Davidson County Airport for the first 10,000 sq. ft. hangar has begun and construction for two additional 10,000 sq. ft. corporate hangars is being considered with completion for all 3 expected by December 2024.

Here is a list of other upgrades and improvements planned:

  • Hangar site development - construction is expected to begin on the 50,000 sq. ft. maintenance hangar in late-Fall/early-Winter.

  • Airfield Pavement Rehabilitation – This project has reached substantial completion.

  • Drainage Rehabilitation – This project has reached substantial completion.

  • Airfield Lighting Rehabilitation – We are working through the scope and fee review process to begin the design phase. Design is expected to begin in the coming months, with construction following thereafter (pending construction funding).

  • AWOS Relocation – The AWOS is being relocated to be co-located with the glideslope. We are working through the scope and fee review process with the State. Design is expected to begin the coming months, with construction following thereafter.

  • Off-Airport Obstruction Removal – We are working with the State to obtain additional construction funding with removal expected to begin in Fall/Winter. 

  • The airport is in the process of ordering and installing cameras at Gate 6.
