Davidson County Commissioner Todd Yates cleared of charges
Davidson County Commissioner Todd Yates, had a Simple Assault charge against him dismissed on January 29th, according to the Davidson County Clerk of Courts. The accusation stemmed from an alleged incident where Yates pointed a gun at a tenant.
The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, having not witnessed the event and finding no evidence to support the claim, did not file charges but the tenant filed charges with the magistrate, leading to the dismissal.
An investigation by the State Bureau of Investigation confirmed a property dispute between Yates and the tenant but found no evidence to support the tenant's claim.
Yates was re-elected to a fourth term last year.
