Davidson County Department of Social Services seeks local foster families
The Davidson County Department of Social Services (DCDSS) is seeking loving, supportive and stable individuals, couples and families who are interested in opening their hearts and homes.
There are infants, toddlers, school aged children, siblings and especially teens placed in DCDSS Foster Care System that need care.
Not all children are able to remain in their own homes. If and when it is determined by a judge that their environment is unsafe, a child may be ordered into the custody of Davidson County Department of Social Services while foster care continues to work with the family in order to correct the issues that ultimately led to the child's removal.
When it becomes obvious that a child cannot return to live safely with their biological family, the adoption staff works to find a permanent, loving home for these children.
If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, please view the overview of the requirements, then call Davidson County Department of Social Services at 336-242-2500 to find out about becoming a foster parent. Tell us a little bit about your family by completing and submitting the secure online form.
A Foster Care/Adoptions Social Worker will contact you to explain getting started with the process.
Our Placement Goal
We believe foster children deserve safe, permanent, nurturing homes within one year of their placement in foster care. To achieve this, it is vital for every foster child in North Carolina to have one single, stable foster care placement within their own community.
