Visit the Davidson County Full Steam Ahead! exhibit

A new exhibit, Davidson County Full Steam Ahead! is now up and ready for everyone to see. This exhibit is made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Davidson County Full Steam Ahead! takes you on a time-traveling journey exploring the history of railroad and its profound impact on local industry.

This exhibit includes interactive fun for children and adults in a lively and creative setting. Attendees will uncover intriguing insights into agricultural and manufacturing history, along with captivating stories about the county's diverse workforce. Grand Opening Celebration Days will be held on Fridays in November, excluding the week of Thanksgiving. On November 15th and 22nd, the museum will offer extended hours, opening from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Enjoy light refreshments, children’s crafts and behind- the-scenes tours as our way of expressing gratitude to our exhibit supporters and our wonderful community, your support is invaluable.

This event will feature an open-house format, allowing attendees to explore exhibits at their own pace from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Guided behind-the-scenes tours led by museum staff will also be available throughout the day. While you're in historic uptown Lexington, take the opportunity to enjoy local shopping and dining options.
