Davidson-Davie commencement exercises to take place Friday

Who: Davidson-Davie Community College graduates, families, college trustees,
President Darrin Hartness (no seated audience)

What: 2021 Commencement

When: Friday, May 14, 2021

11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Where: Mary E. Rittling Conference Center

Davidson Campus, 297 DCC Road, Thomasville, NC 27360

Why: Although still not its typical commencement ceremony, Davidson-Davie’s 2021 graduation will offer an in-person option for graduates to cross the stage during their chosen time slot. Each graduate’s family or guests will watch from a safe distance before moving on to allow the next graduate to approach the stage. For those watching from home, a live-stream of graduates crossing the stage will continue throughout the day at DavidsonDavie.edu/graduation, and on Facebook and YouTube. The official conferral of degrees and remarks from college leaders also will be available on the college website, including the awarding of the college’s 11th honorary degree to Burr Sullivan of Lexington. Sullivan, a member of the State Board of Community Colleges, has been a leader in business, economic development, and education for close to fifty years and is a great friend of Davidson-Davie Community College.
