Dispose of sensitive information properly –shred it
Davidson County Senior Services is hosting a community shred event from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. April 5 at the Davidson County Senior Center in Lexington, 555-B West Center St. Ext. Mobile shred services for personal documents will be provided at no charge to all who live, work and play in Davidson County; not for use by businesses, commercial entities or county departments. There is a limit of 3 document boxes or 75 pounds of paper per attendee.
By shredding documents containing personal data like Social Security numbers, bank account details and addresses, you significantly reduce the risk of identity theft. Shredding also allows you to reclaim valuable storage space, reduce clutter and improve organization. Simply drive up to the mobile shred truck, unload your boxes/bags and watch your documents be shred on the spot. Special thanks to Civic and Local Government Federal Credit Union and Wellcare for their sponsorship of this special event.
