Donate games to LMS for their Family Engagement Game Gift Drive

Lexington Middle School is committed to working together with all stakeholders to provide the best education for all Yellow Jackets in our school community.  We recognize the essential role families play and value their support.  Parent and family support is critical for academic success and improves the educational achievement of each child. LMS will kick off next week on December 19, 2022 with our Title I Family Engagement Game Night. This Title I event will provide an evening of fun for teachers, parents, and students. This event is intended to promote interaction between our Yellow Jacket scholars and their parents/guardians. We will use the games donated to give to our Yellow Jacket families for those who attend our Title I event.

In addition, Ms. Monique Wells, 7th grade Assistant Principal is responsible for “Ralphie” the reindeer in our building. She is behind the LMS “Elf on the Shelf” idea to spread holiday cheer in our school building. Mrs. Lakeshia Wilson, 6th grade Assistant Principal was inspired by a colleague and brought the idea for “Ralphie” to unveil a large amount of presents to give out to our students for the holidays. As a result, all administrators were immediately on board to spring into action for our Yellow Jacket families. Our goal is to ensure each one of our Yellow Jackets families receives a game to enjoy over the holiday break.

The purpose of this Drive is to encourage our students to put down technology and find the love and joy of spending quality time with their families during the holidays. Our goal is for students to hear the pure laughter of good, old fashion fun using a family game. LMS is thankful and pleased with the overwhelming support we’ve received thus far with the drive. The community has done some truly amazing things in only a few short days! The kindness and generosity will touch the lives of our Yellow Jacket families this holiday season.

*If you would like to donate, games can be dropped off at Lexington Middle School 100 W. Hemstead St. Deadline is Monday, December 19.
