Dunn named Consensus All-American
Lexington native and North Davidson High School graduate, Christopher Dunn, can add a new title to his already loaded resume - ‘Consensus All-American.’ The North Carolina State University kicker has enjoyed a record setting season culminating with numerous accolades.
The NCAA, governing body for collegiate athletics, released their 2022 Consensus All-American list. To be named as a Consensus All-American, a player must be named to the first team on three of the five lists recognized by the NCAA. They include the Associated Press, the American Football Coaches Association, the Football Writers of America, the Walter Camp Football Foundation and The Sporting News. Dunn was named first team on each organization’s list except for The Sporting News where he was named second team.
Additionally, Dunn, the 2022 Lou Groza Award winner which recognizes him as the top place kicker in college football, was named an all-american by CBS Sports and The Athletic. The Wolfpacker is the first kicker in 26 years to earn All-American honors at NC State.
Dunn graduated from the university in 2021 with a degree in communication. He is currently a graduate student.
