Faith and Fellowship: Celebrate Jesus
Life requires celebration, times of joy and rest that God has set aside on the Sabbath. Celebration is a core aspect of spirituality. As a Christian, celebration is an important aspect of how we as believers live with faith.
As Memorial Day has come upon us; as the many people celebrate the official kick of to summer, let us remember the words from Ecclesiastes 3:1: to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under the Heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:4 teaches us: A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance. It’s time to celebrate Jesus! Be cheerful with joyous celebration in every season of life. Let your joy overflow! And let gentleness be seen in everyday relationships, for our Lord is near. - Philippians 4:4-7.
Worship should be a joyful celebration before the Lord in accordance with his truth. The Hebrew word for celebration comes from a root word meaning to laugh. God wants his people to be filled with Holy Joy in his presence. As we celebrate Jesus, let us celebrate with intensity and variety. There are many types of instruments we can use to celebrate Jesus, such as the organ, harp, trumpet drums and many other instruments. Let’s celebrate Jesus with our offerings and sacrifices. Let us celebrate Jesus with dancing and clapping of our hands. It’s time to celebrate our King! You cannot hide genuine joy. It must be expressed.
What believers know and understand from scriptures is that worship should be delightful not a duty. As we celebrate Jesus, we must know that our praise and worship is not entertainment. Entertainment focuses people on performances. Worship is being in the presence of the Lord. As you worship and celebrate Jesus we know that true worship means that we follow the word, and not the world. The more you value and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to value and celebrate! “O come, let us adore him, Christ the Lord”.
Psalm 145:7 says “They will celebrate your abundance, goodness and joyfully sing of righteousness”. Let us celebrate Jesus for keeping us alive and well!
The songwriter penned it by writing;
I feel a celebration, showing my appreciation.
He is the great Messiah, I’ve come to lift him higher.
I feel a celebration, showing my appreciation.
Come on let’s give him the highest praise. Celebrate we Love you Lord! Celebrate! I will bless the Lord at all times, celebrate!
As we meditate on the word of God this week let us not only celebrate the Memorial holiday, let us shout and celebrate our Lord and Savior! Celebrate! Celebrate! Celebrate!
May God so richly bless!
