Faith and Fellowship: A Father's Love
A father is implored to bring their children up in the ways of the Lord, to discipline them and to encourage, comfort and instruct them. Genesis 18:19 teaches, "For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord, he is doing right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”
A Father’s role in the family is a pivotal one. He is called upon to be a leader and protector of the family, and to live as an example of Christ’s love, by being loving towards the children’s mother. A Father is also strong in the faith, and to bring children up knowing right from wrong. Being a father isn’t something to be taken lightly.
Fathers should look to God’s word in Ephesians 6:14 which teaches “Father’s do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord”. We, the children of God, have our earthly fathers and we to have our Heavenly Father. God, our Father in Heaven, is a perfect example of what a Father should be: strong, courageous, compassionate and even tempered. If you find yourself without a relationship with your earthly father, you can always count on your Heavenly Father.
Put your trust in your Heavenly Father. Our father which is in Heaven loves you and wants to have a relationship with you, He will be the most caring and loving father you could ever hope for. If ever you find yourself in trouble and in need of the father, remember the words, “Father alone knows all about it, father alone will understand why. Cheer up walk in the sunshine, father alone will understand it all by and by.
Whatever the problem or situation maybe take it to the Father. We have a father who cares.”
The ultimate father’s love is the love of God, who gave his only begotten son, so that we could have a right to the tree of life. A father’s love gave his son to hang on the cross. No better love than the love of our father.
Dear God, we gratefully thank you for giving us our fathers. Thank you dear Lord for the fathers that are spending Father’s Day in heaven. Thank you for the time you allowed us to have the fathers here on earth. Thank you heavenly father for being so divine.
Happy Father’s Day!!
May God so richly bless!
