Faith and Fellowship: Everyday is a day of Thanksgiving

As we enter into the Thanksgiving holiday, may we take some time and reflect on the blessings we’re most thankful we’ve received. Thanksgiving is not the only time we should give thanks. As believers we know that everyday is a day of Thanksgiving.

The song writer penned it best when he stated; God has been so good to me, everyday he’s blessings me. Take the time to glorify he Lord today. Thanksgiving is simply a response to God’s goodness and grace with gratitude.

In the Old Testament we find that the people would raise their hands to God in gratitude. Psalm 107: 1-3 teaches us “Oh give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good for his steadfast Love endures forever!” There are many benefits for being thankful to God. When your thanksgiving reaches God, he will reach down and bring light to your life with his mere presence. As we journey to Isaiah 12:4-5 the word of God tells us, And on that day you will say, “Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name. Make known his deeds among the people; make them remember that his name is exalted. Praise the Lord in song, for he has done glorious things; let this be known throughout the earth.”

Let us remember as we celebrate this Thanksgiving holiday that everyday is a day of Thanksgiving. We as believers know that there is power in having a heart of thanksgiving. There is always a reason to be thankful. Pray with all your love, feelings and simply say “Thank you God.” Let us celebrate this Thanksgiving and always remember everyday is a day of Thanksgiving.
