Faith and Fellowship: God’s Gifts are Perfect
Every good and perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, which whom there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning - James 1:17. When God blesses us, he blesses us out of his goodness. God only gives us good gifts. There may be times when we may or may not re recognize the gifts from God, because God’s gifts are priceless. God gives us gifts so that we may know him better, and his gifts allows us to grow spiritually.
Romans 6:23 teaches us,” For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal through Jesus Christ our Lord”. God’s gifts are perfect. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him, should not perish but have everlasting life - John 3:16. Thanks be unto God for his perfect gift to us.
It has been said, God’s gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God. As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good Stewarts of the manifold grace of God - 1 Peter 4:10.As believers God has given us spiritual gifts, we have all been gifted with different talents. God works in different ways through each of us and we all serve him faithfully as we use our gifts to glorify him. As believers we should always use the gifts that God has entrusted us with wisely.
We should use our gifts from God, to bless others as well as encourage others, and strengthen others in Love. Without Love our gifts are nothing. As believers we should not neglect the gifts that God has given us, we should stir up the gifts that God has given us, so that God maybe glorified. 1 Corinthians 12: 4-6, “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same spirit, and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord, and there are a varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them in everyone.
We should always remember God’s perfect gifts that we receive are not our alone, God gave us gifts for the purpose of serving him and serving other people. There are many different gifts in the body of Christ according to the grace given us. We can find gifts of prophesying, teachers, ministers, singing, peacemakers, beautiful smile one to another, and so many more. For we know that the essence of the Christian life is obeying and worshipping God. The songwriter penned it by stating, God has not given us the spirit of fear, But the Lord has given us power, Power and Love, His joy and peace, his happiness, and a sound mind. Never should we be afraid. Stir up the gift!
As we meditate on the word of God this week let us remember God’s Gifts are perfect.
