Farmers Market organizing meeting to be held Monday, March 14
The Lexington Farmers Market will hold its Spring Organizing Meeting on Monday, March 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Davidson County Agricultural Center at 301 E. Center Street in Lexington. The meeting is open to anyone interested in vending at the Lexington Farmers Market at the Depot from May to October, as well as pop-up markets in various locations throughout the year.
Memberships for 2022 can be purchased at the meeting for $60. Season passes for reserved booth spaces at the Depot will also be sold that night. Daily booth rentals will be available throughout the year, even without a season pass.
The meeting agenda will include plans for the 2022 farmers market season and how members can tap into the three-year $360,000 USDA federal grant the Lexington Farmers Market received last year.
To become a member of the Lexington Farmers Market and vend at the market, you must grow, produce, bake or make items you sell in Davidson County or in a surrounding county. Farmers must be certified by the NC Cooperative Extension. Other food producers must have a Department of Agriculture certified home kitchen. Artisan crafters must be approved by the Lexington Farmers Market Craft Committee. For more information on membership, visit https://www.lexingtonfarmersmarketnc.com/sell-at-the-market.
