Fire departments receive grant funds

Six fire departments in Davidson County were recent recipients of grant funds delivered by the North Carolina Department of Insurance. North Carolina Commissioner of Insurance, Mike Causey, State Senator Steve Jarvis and State Representative Larry Potts recently presented checks, totaling over $88,000, to representatives from each department. The breakdown of distribution is as follows:

  • Denton Fire Department- $15,000

  • Gumtree Fire & Rescue, Inc.-$10,855

  • Healing Springs Fire Department, Inc.- $9,628.35

  • South Davidson Fire Department, Inc.- $16,665

  • South Lexington Volunteer Fire Department, Inc.- $21,280

  • West Lexington Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, Inc- $14,940
