First Reformed UCC to host community forum on mental health and substance abuse

The forum is open to the community and is no charge for admission. It will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 4 pm until 5:30 pm in the church’s Fellowship Hall. Speakers include Janna Walker from the Davidson County Health Department, Billy West the President and CEO of Daymark Recovery Services, and Joe and Cathy Browder volunteer Family Support Group Facilitators of the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI).

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Since its inception in 1949, Mental Health Awareness Month has been a cornerstone of addressing the challenges faced by millions of Americans living with mental health conditions. Throughout the month, NAMI actively participates in this national movement, dedicated to eradicating stigma, extending support, fostering public education and advocating for policies that prioritize the well-being of individuals and families affected by mental illness.
