Food Truck Thursday returns to Lexington; new location at Bull City Ciderworks
After a brief hiatus, Salisbury-based entrepreneur Tranise Brown announced the reboot of Food Truck Thursdays in Lexington at Bull City Ciderworks. "Get ready to satisfy your cravings every Thursday with Food Truck Thursdays. Join us for a tasty adventure, where you can savor a variety of mouthwatering cuisines," Brown wrote in a message to fans. "From gourmet burgers to delectable desserts, we've got something for everyone. Don't miss out on this epic foodie experience! #FoodTruckThursdays 599 S Railroad St, Lexington. The wait is over and we are back!” The festivities begin this week until further notice.
And after hosting a one-time food truck festival fundraiser for Lexington Senior High in Davidson County in May, Tranise and her husband, Travis Fennell, are bringing a weekly food truck event called Food Truck Thursdays to Lexington in July at Breeden Insurance Amphitheater. Brown said the group will likely return to the amphitheater, but Bull City Ciderworks provides a more comfortable alternative during the cool winter months. She said, "I love the amphitheater." The shift was related to the option to dine inside and accessible bathrooms. "We will still go back."
Food Truck Tuesdays began in Spencer’s Connected Wellness Center with only eight to 10 food trucks. In March, it moved to the Rowan County Fairgrounds, with 60 or more food trucks and trailers. So far, Brown said, more than a dozen food truck operators have signed up for the inaugural Food Truck Thursdays event in Lexington. There will be a variety of food, from Caribbean and Mexican to Greek and Italian, soul food, burgers, funnel cakes, candied apples, fresh-squeezed lemonade and more. Brown encourages people to bring their appetites, a towel or lawn chair. The weather forecast is calling for highs in the 80s and low 60s. Dining options will be available inside or outside.
