Get free library replacements card at DCPL during the month of September
Davidson County Public Library, along with public libraries across the United States, will celebrate National Library Card Sign-up Month throughout September. A library card for new patrons is always free. During September, replacement cards (normally $3) are free, too.
“We encourage members of our community to sign up for a public library card during September. With the new school year just starting, a library card becomes a vital school supply. It provides access to a range of resources that contribute to academic success,” said Sheila Killebrew, Library Director for the Davidson County Public Library System.
A library card provides access to books, audiobooks, magazines, DVDs, and Blu-Rays. In addition, printing, copying, faxing, meeting rooms, public computers, and free Wi-Fi are available at local public libraries.
A Davidson County Public Library card also provides access to electronic resources such as the North Carolina Digital Library and the NC Kids Digital Library, which both offer e-books and e audiobooks, World Book Online, and several resources within NC Live such as Just for Kids Streaming, Gale in Context: Biography, and Learning Express Library.
