Heat things up at the Lexington Farmers Market's Pepper Palooza

Heat things up at the Lexington Farmers Market's Pepper Palooza

There are so many peppers at the Lexington Farmers Market today and they are spicing things up with a Pepper Palooza. We're in the hottest weeks of the summer now and lucky for us all, pepper plants love that. Most peppers are at their peak production right now, so today is the perfect day to make peppers, in all of their variety-filled glory, today’s star at the Lexington Farmers Market..

Join Veronica Tim in the Depot kitchen area at 10 a.m. where she is going to prepare and give out samples of her Cambodian steak sauce, made with chili peppers. Veronica and her husband Chris will also grill up some steaks to serve with the samples, so that you can get the full effect.  Their menu will use ingredients from local farmers including cucumbers from crossings, steak from Klymer Ridge and BN Acres and cilantro microgreens from Garden Window. The Tims can't wait for everyone to try it.

Learn something new and feast your eyes on all of the beautiful shapes and colors that peppers come in. Also check out the varieties of peppers displayed in the center of the Depot, showcasing all the fabulous varieties of peppers offered by the vendors.

The Lexington Farmers Market is welcoming back a few of the staple vendor members after a well-deserved vacations:

  • Kepley's Hand Carved Spoons

  • Rabble & Rise Baking Company

  • Summer's Sweet Spot

  • Fancy Plants Farmstead

All are returning. and everyone is so happy to see them again. The Lexington Farmers Market would like to congratulate the Rierson Farm family on the birth of their precious baby girl, Addie. She is absolutely beautiful.

It's also the first Saturday of the month, which means that there will be an open bluegrass/country jam session from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. providing live entertainment for your enjoyment.
