Goose and Monkey wins multiple awards

*Per GMBH’s President and Co-Owner, Brent Moore, they are planning to have a celebration/community "Thank You" party on May 21 for both festivals so stay tuned for details.

Goose and the Monkey Brewhouse claimed several medals in the  2022 Carolinas Championship of Beer (CCB). CCB is held in conjunction with the Hickory Hops  Beer festival. It was held on April 23rd in Hickory, NC. This was the 15th anniversary for the CCB  Beer Festival and featured over 40 breweries from North Carolina and South Carolina.

Judging was done two weeks prior by 50 volunteers at Old Hickory Brewery. The judges were given  unmarked beers for each beer style and by the end they had over 128 entries from 25 different  breweries.

Goose and the Monkey Brewhouse came away with five medals. The Fire Door Red Ale and Bion Imperial Stout each claimed gold medals, and the Lexington Lake Lager (L3), Hillbilly Hair Cut Amber Ale, and Perfect Blend IPA each claimed silver medals.

Goose and the Monkey Brewhouse Wins Award at World Beer Cup®

Goose and the Monkey Brewhouse claimed a silver award in the 2022 World Beer Cup, a global beer competition that evaluates beers from around the world and recognizes  the most outstanding brewers and their beers.

Awards were given in 103 beer-style categories during the World Beer Cup award ceremony on May  5, 2022, at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minnesota.

Goose and the Monkey Brewhouse was awarded a silver award in the British-Style Imperial Stout beer  style category for its Bion Series Russian Imperial Stout a dark, rich, and slightly boozy Imperial stout.  Goose and the Monkey Brewhouse is a 10-bbl microbrewery located in Lexington, NC, USA that  specializes in inventive, delicious, craft beer.

“This feels like the culmination of ten (10) years of home brewing, and two (2) years commercial  brewing. Seventeen (17) boiler tubes, and a pandemic that’s the ultimate test of my skill in the craft.  To be recognized on this level is an honor.” said Eric Gibble, head brewer at Goose and the Monkey Brewhouse.

World Beer Cup winners were selected by an international panel of 226 beer judges from 28 countries. Widely regarded as the “Olympics of Beer,” the 2022 World Beer Cup was the largest competition to  date with 10,542 entries from 2,493 breweries in 57 countries.

Presented by the Brewers Association, the World Beer Cup has been held biennially since 1996, to  celebrate the art and science of brewing by recognizing outstanding achievement. For additional  information, visit the World Beer Cup website.

After the 2022 World Beer Cup at CBC Minneapolis, the competition is moving from biennially to an  annual competition to raise the stakes with a more frequent competition to celebrate international  brewing excellence.
