Rotary hosts Central Carolina Conference Awards Luncheon

The Lexington and Thomasville Rotary Clubs 2022 Central Carolina Conference Awards Luncheon was held at the Rittling Conference Center on Wednesday, May 25th from 12 to 1pm.

The event honors the top male and female athletes in the conference and also presents two special/significant awards. The first being the George Cushwa Cup which is presented to the high school that receives the most points from all of the athletic events during the school year. The award honors George Cushwa who is a legendary football coach in the County and was head coach at Thomasville for several decades.

The second award is in honor of Coach Charles England, and is presented to the school that displays the best sportsmanship during the school year (voted on by the individual schools).

The Cushwa award is given to the high school that has the best overall record in the 19 sports (male and female) sponsored by the Central Carolina Conference in 2021-2022.
