The Workshop of Davidson County will hold annual meeting Oct. 21st

The Workshop of Davidson, Inc. to hold virtual annual meeting. The annual meeting of The Workshop of Davidson, Inc. will be October 21 by ZOOM at 6 p.m. Agenda items will include election of officers and members to the Board of Directors. Membership dues must be paid to be eligible to vote.

To join the virtual meeting individuals may email The Workshop at kara.cody@workshopofdavidson.org before October 19. A link will then be returned by email. Questions concerning the meeting or the process should be directed to Executive Director Kara Cody at 336-248-2816.

Terms of directors expiring in 2021 are Mary Ann Brown, David Clifton, Olen Easter, Jr. and Debbie Harris all of Lexington. Continuing directors with terms expiring on 2022 are Pat Dunning, Cathy Misenhiemer and Libby O’Shea of Lexington and Mike Craver of Welcome. Directors with terms expiring in 2023 are Terri Beck, Ashley Phillips and Ravin Shah of Lexington, George Hodges of Greensboro and Doug Meredith of Welcome. There are currently two slots vacant, one being the position held by Joe Bennett who retired from the Board earlier this year.

Meredith, the treasurer, will present reports as will select members of The Workshop staff about 2020-21 activities.

The mission of the Workshop of Davidson, Inc. is to promote and deliver quality services to each person served and to meet each person’s individual life skills, vocational and residential needs in a diverse and inclusive environment. The purpose is to assist persons served in achievement of their highest degree of self- sufficiency; vocationally, socially and economically and to provide each person served an opportunity to gain the skills necessary to live as independently as possible in a diverse and inclusive environment.

The Workshop was founded May 22, 1964 and is located at 275 Monroe Road in Lexington. The Workshop has been a United Way of Davidson County Agency since 1966. More information is available on the organization’s Facebook page.
