Hospice provides opportunity to honor loved ones

Hospice provides opportunity to honor loved ones

A free community ‘Night of Reflection’ event will be held Wednesday, December 8

LEXINGTON Hospice of Davidson County is providing several opportunities for the community to remember loved ones and honor cherished memories through its annual ornament & luminary sale and Night of Reflection event.

This year’s memorial ornament is a colorful ceramic rose handcrafted by Jon and Chenoa Colburn of Faded Earth Pottery. Individual ornaments are available for $15 and can be personalized with a name upon request. Luminaries, which can be personalized to honor or memorialize a loved one, are available for $10. An ornament and luminary package may be purchased for $20. To purchase an ornament and/or luminary, please visit hospiceofdavidson.org

Luminaries will be displayed at the Hospice of Davidson County campus located at 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC throughout the holiday season. Each luminary will hold a card honoring or memorializing a loved one. Beginning on Friday, December 10, the community is invited to safely and respectfully drive through campus to experience the luminaries at their leisure.

The Night of Reflection annual event is set for Wednesday, December 8 from 6-8 p.m. at the Davidson County Historical Museum on Courthouse Square. To best protect our patients, families and staff it was determined that the Night of Reflection should take place off campus. At this free, floating event, community members can experience luminaries lighting up the famous steps in Uptown Lexington while listening to music, enjoying light refreshments and learning about Hospice Care in Davidson County.

Registration for the free event is encouraged. Those interested in attending can RSVP at hospiceofdavidson.org or by calling (336) 474-2086.

Ornaments may be picked up throughout the season, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. or at the Night of Reflection. Proceeds from the ornaments and luminaries are designated for the compassionate care and grief support of the agency’s patients and families facing a life limiting illness.

To purchase ornaments, luminaries or RSVP to the free Night of Reflection event, please visit hospiceofdavidson.org or call (336) 474-2086.
