In Loving Memory: Rose “Maureen” Buchanan Davis

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Rose “Maureen” Buchanan Davis, 78, of Oakdale Lane in Lexington. The loving and devoted mother, mamaw, and friend to all who knew her, was granted her wings, comfortably in her home on Wednesday, October 6th, 2021. Her final days were spent surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born February 12, 1943, in Pascagoula County, Mississippi, to June Patczh, and Kenneth Odell Buchanan. Maureen married the love of her life, James Edward Davis Sr. when she was 16 years old, on June 6th, 1959. Together they built a beautiful life full of love, with a family of 5 children.

Maureen was known for her loving, warm heart, her sense of humor, and love for life. Her biggest passion was God, her family, and loved ones. If you were lucky enough to meet her, you certainly loved her, and she gave her love to everyone freely and unconditionally. Maureen was an active member of Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church for 56 years.

Maureen was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Jimmy Edward Davis Sr., Her daughter Cindy, her brother Kenneth, and her sister Pat. She is survived by daughter, Sherry Freeman (Randy) and three sons and their wives, Jimmy Davis Jr. (Ann), Allen Davis (Melissa), and Brian Davis (Misty). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Brandon, Brooke, Cory, Josh, Carmen, Taylor, Austin, Tana, Chris, Michael, Dustin, Travis, Robbie, and Amber; along with 15 great-grandchildren. All of whom she loved and touched deeply.

Visitation will be held at Davidson Funeral Home, 301 N. Main St, Lexington 27292, on Saturday, October 9, 2021, beginning at 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

A funeral service and celebration of life will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, October 10th, 2021 at Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church at 455 Freewill Cir, Lexington, NC 27295, with Reverend Doug McGee officiating the services. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Flowers can be sent to Davidson Funeral Home. 

The family will receive visitors at {son} Brian Davis’ home.
