Press Release: Lexington Book Festival receives community engagement grant
The Lexington Book Festival has received a Community Engagement Grant from North Carolina Humanities. This grant was offered in conjunction with Arts Davidson County and will allow readers to interact with authors for adult, young adult, middle grade, and early elementary audiences at the Lexington Book Festival on March 9, 2024. .
“We are grateful to be among the organizations North Carolina Humanities selected to receive grant funding,” said Angela Frith, Chair of the Board of Directors for the Lexington Book Festival.
This important grant funding will support the Lexington Book Festival's efforts to provide readers with the chance to interact directly with their favorite authors and with other readers. By hosting diverse authors who write for readers of all ages and expertise, the organization hopes all attendees will develop or renew their excitement for reading, conversations, and exchanges of ideas. Cultural grant funding contributes to vibrant communities across the state where participants, through engagement and discussion, can be introduced to worlds and perspectives other than their own.
This is the first time the Lexington Book Festival has received a grant from North Carolina Humanities, one of the oldest and largest cultural funders in North Carolina.
The upcoming Lexington Book Festival will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Arts Davidson County at 202 North Main Street in Lexington. This book festival is made possible by a grant from North Carolina Humanities, a statewide nonprofit and the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
