Lexington Farmers Market reopens for 'Harvest Market'

Lexington Farmers Market reopens for 'Harvest Market'

Press Release

On Saturday, November 20, the Lexington Farmers Market at the Depot will re-open for their special “Harvest Market”.  The market will feature many of the usual farm products such as locally grown produce, plants, eggs, and locally raised beef, pork, lamb, and chicken.  Local homemade jams, bread, and other baked goods will also be available, just in time to prepare for a Thanksgiving celebration.

An added bonus will be the addition of several local craftsmen and artisans displaying and selling their unique handmade items.

Some of the crafts that will be featured are hand-made quilts, crocheted winter hats, pottery, leather tooling, woodworking and jewelry.  Customers will also be entertained with live music by Ken Davis.

The market will be open from 9 am to 2 pm at the renovated train depot on Railroad Street in Lexington, close to Southern Lunch Restaurant.

The Lexington Farmers Market is a seasonal market that normally runs May through October, but re-opens for two special markets in November and December to close out the year.  The second special market, called the “Holiday Market”, will occur on Saturday, December 4.
