Lexington Fire Department responds to house fire

On Monday, February 6, at 9:28 am, the City of Lexington Fire Department responded to a residential house fire on West Seventh Street Extension.

When fire crews arrived at the home, they saw smoke and heavy fire. Firefighters immediately began working to extinguish the fire and conducted search operations.

Searches revealed that no occupants were in the home. The fire was under control in less than 20 minutes.

The home sustained heavy fire and smoke damage throughout. The Red Cross is assisting the occupants.

Two Lexington firefighters received minor injuries and were treated by Davidson County EMS on the scene. No other injuries were reported.

West Lexington Fire & Rescue, along with Davidson County EMS, assisted. The cause of the fire is under investigation by The City of Lexington Fire Marshal’s

Office.
