Lexington's new recycling collection schedule

THIS WEEK (April 13-16, 2021) will start a new recycling collection schedule for some customers. Customers impacted by this change should have received a change notice and a copy of the new schedule.

Customers now have either a blue or green recycling week and those collection weeks alternate depending on the color. The collection DAY (trash, recycling and yard waste) stays the same, but the alternating WEEK changes for some customers.

You can find out if your recycling week is blue or green by:

• Visiting www.lexingtonnc.gov/findmytrashday and typing in your address.

• Calling the Recycling & Waste Department at (336) 248-3965.

This change will balance crews' workload to improve waste collection service reliability and consistency for all customers.

Remember: Please have your rollout carts at the street by 6:00 a.m. for collection, as your area may have a different driver on a different schedule. To keep Lexington beautiful, please roll back your carts by midnight after collection.
