On Saturday, June 26, Cory Holt will be hosting the annual football camp for the Cory Holt Foundation. This year, he will be partnering with Eric Brown, head coach of the Lexington Senior High School football team.

In 2018, Holt decided to start a camp based on what he loved, which is, of course, football. He was fortunate enough to have parents who gave him the opportunity to attend different football camps around North Carolina.

Holt’s camp was created to build set skills with the kids and teach them the game of football. Holt has spent the past few years coaching. Currently, he coaches the Lexington Gatorsand won the Central Carolina Youth Athletic League championship in 2019.

“My mission is to prepare the middle school kids to practice at their required level and once in high school they’ll be ready for Friday nights,” Holt stated.

Holt discussed that there is more to the camp than just football.

“While the camp is great for the sport, I think it’s important to pull the kids aside and bring awareness to their character. We also try to have a guest speaker at the end of the camps.”

The camp is designed to provide each individual camper a solid foundation of basic football fundamentals necessary to excel at their specific position.

Holt was hesitant to do the camp this year because of COVID-19 but thought it would be a great way to have the kids participate in something fun and knowledgeable at the same time.
