Join the caravan of local groups advocating for restaurant and retail workers on Sunday

On the heels of multiple food festivals, Davidson County residents know that restaurant and retail workers are the backbone of our economy. But too often, these workers face unpredictable schedules and little to no paid leave or benefits. That’s why Women AdvaNCe, RevUp NC, and the Family Cares Coalition have partnered to bring Greensboro a town hall to discuss what supportive paid leave policies look like for retail and restaurant workers in the Triad. Organizers say that this election has the potential to make a significant impact.

WHEN: 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on November 3rd

WHERE: World of Beer
1304 Westover Terrace Suite
Greensboro, NC 27408

WHO: Everyone in the triad interested in advocating for more supportive policies for restaurant and retail workers

Organizers say this town hall will be an opportunity for retail and restaurant workers to share their industry experiences and candidates for elected office in the Triad to engage with the retail and restaurant community around this important issue. They will also have short advocacy teach-ins where attendees can find practical ways to share their stories.

There will be free drinks, food and raffles. According to organizer Emily Hagstrom, “This is not just an opportunity for advocacy – this an opportunity to have some fun in the community. So bring your friends, and come ready to make some new ones.”

Local groups will caravan to this event on Sunday at 2 p.m. leaving from in front of Southern Lunch Restaurant.
