Altert: Denton and Thomasville road closures notice

The southbound lane of N.C. Highway 8 South will be closed through April 18 as N.C. Department of Transportation crews work to repair the bridge. Workers are performing maintenance on the bridge's beams.

The section affected is just west of Denton, near Flat Swamp Road. Work will be performed Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

West Holly Hill Road in Thomasville will be closed near Fisher Ferry Road from 8:30 a.m. on April 13 to 3:30 p.m. April 14. This project will replace a failed pipe under the road.

Traffic will be detoured to Fisher Ferry Road, Main Street and Randolph Street to return to West Holly Hill Road.
